A life-long Great Big Sea fan, my nine-year-old hopefully held his guitar and asked if the band might sign it. To our surprise, GBS graciously invited us on the tour bus to watch hockey and play guitar. As my children beamed over meeting their favorite musicians and I professed my thanks, they simply noted, “Hey, we get it; we have kids.” I’ll forever appreciate their generosity, which, at least for that moment, made my children believe their mom can do anything. Only complication: my daughter plans on making shell necklaces with Taylor Swift on Hermit Island this summer... |
